Preparations for the 11th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) are in full swing. With the patron, PS Dr. Chris Kiptoo, engaged in budget proceedings in Parliament, the KICP Chairman and CEO hosted Chief Conservator of Forests Alex Lemarkoko for a reconnaissance and planning visit ahead of the event scheduled for 10th–11th July.
The team reviewed key activities, including the marathon route design with Golazo and inspected sites such as Kapkoi for tree planting and Kaptarkok Primary School, the venue for the main celebrations.
A key milestone was the launch of a modern biogas system at St. Agatha Mokwo Girls Secondary School, supported by Kyoto Energy, with capacity to produce 300kg of gas monthly and convert slurry into organic fertilizer.
As momentum builds, we appreciate the continued support of our partners, sponsors, stakeholders, and community, whose collaboration remains central to protecting the Kaptagat ecosystem and advancing sustainable conservation.

The Kaptagat Forest Ecosystem remains one of Kenya’s most critical water towers, supporting water security, environmental sustainability, agricultural productivity and livelihoods across the North Rift region.
Today, our patron briefed the Head of Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei, on preparations for the 10th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), set for 11th July 2026 at Penon Forest Block, Keiyo South. The event will be graced by H.E. President William Samoei Ruto.
As we mark 10 years of conservation, restoration and community empowerment, we are preparing for a landmark edition that will showcase the impact of KICP in restoring degraded landscapes, strengthening environmental stewardship and improving livelihoods.

Following the successful launch of the 10th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), professionals and stakeholders from the Kaptagat Ecosystem based in Nairobi today met under the leadership of our Patron Dr. Chris Kiptoo (PS NT) to align priorities and strengthen partnerships ahead of the main event scheduled for 11th July 2026.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to environmental conservation, ecosystem restoration and community empowerment under the “10 to 20: Restore. Sustain. Transform.” vision. As a critical water tower, the Kaptagat Ecosystem supports livelihoods across Uasin Gishu and neighbouring counties and supplies a significant share of the water consumed in Eldoret City, underscoring the importance of its protection for current and future generations.
We welcome all stakeholders, partners, communities and friends of KICP to join us on 11th July 2026 as we host H.E. the President Dr. William Ruto for a tree-planting exercise and the celebration of 10 years of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme.

Deeply saddened by the passing of Eng. Anne Cheboi, who was recently appointed as a Member of the PPP Tribunal at the National Treasury. She was a distinguished electrical engineer and accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience in the ICT and Energy sectors, where she championed quality engineering, renewable energy, climate action and transformational projects across the country.
Eng. Cheboi was also a strong, committed, and full-of-life member of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), of which I am the Patron.
We have lost a dependable colleague, a committed professional, and a true champion of transformative development, whose contribution to sustainable energy, environmental stewardship, and community impact will remain unforgettable.
My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and the entire KICP fraternity during this difficult time.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
