During this short holiday,take your time to intentionally talk to your child about their school experience so far.correct ,teach , empower and guide them where need be.Academics shouldn't be ignored too, evaluate the targets you had set .

I was randomly walking with a form three teacher when a parent called the teacher with a question that left us admiring the parent.

Parent; What are my daughter's strengths that I should work on augmenting,and what are her weaknesses they I should help her correct?

They are people that exist in our social spaces either physically or virtually (as in the media),and posses informal authority and recognition, hence influence to a high degree the behavior ,believes ,attitudes, values and actions of those around them through their examples .To what extent do you think social models have shaped the behavior of our teenagers and youths in this society?

Parents,let your teenagers know where else they can get help from Incase they may need to talk to a person that is not you.
Have intentional discussions with them on "Incase you are not comfortable saying it to me,you can feel free to talk to a b c d any time"...inform the person mentioned also,so that they may be prepared just Incase your kids try to reach out to them.
