Musician Bien-Aimé Baraza says he refused to pick up his royalties cheque from the Music Copyright Society Of Kenya (MCSK), insists they didn’t tell him the amount in the cheque.

“Waliniambia mimi ni one of the highest earners. Nikaambia huyo msee, nimeona zile doh mnadistribute. Sina time in my day kuja kucollect KSh 1,500. In my mind, mnataka kukam hapo mnigeuze token kusema wasanii walilipwa na mnajua hiyo pesa ni change.”

“They spend a lot on administration. Mtu mwenye anaenda hapo akitaka tu KSh 40k ya allowance sio mtu mnaweza reason na yeye. MCSK inataka tu leadership. It is supposed to be run by technocrats in the music industry with administration skills,” Bien said on the Iko Nini Podcast.
