What a time it was at NewImages this year!

From a great judging session that Walid Kilonzi did with Mike Salmon and Giusy Amoroso for the Virtual Worlds competition—well deserved recognition to Durk van der Meer!

To an engaging and insightful discussion with Emma Hamilton, Tupac Martir, and the great moderator Aude-Émilie Judaïque.

The work Michele Ziegler, Federico Anselmi, Sarah Arnaud, Guillaume Decory, and the wider team are doing is much needed in the space right now—hats off to them.

And to the many new friends and connections made throughout the week.

We are looking forward to seeing where NewImages goes next!

None of this would have been possible without those who believed in the vision before the trail was even marked.
To our partners:
🤝 WWF Kenya – for turning conservation into conversation, and storytelling into strategy
⚡ Electric South, National Film and Video Foundation, and Ford Foundation – for funding the dream and fueling the creative risk
🌱 KIPRE – for opening the gates of Oloolua and guiding our forest journey
This wasn’t just a game launch — it was a constellation of partnerships rooted in purpose.
Thank you for walking with us.

We launched ARGO, Africa’s first public environmental Augmented Reality (AR) game, in the heart of Oloolua Forest — and something magical happened.
🌿 Children from several schools played Argo and met the wardens of Oloolua for the first time.
🎨 They also participated in a coloring activity that let them give Argo’s characters their own creative spin.
🎤Experts in conservation, sustainability and biodiversity from the Kenya Institute of Primate Research, National Museums of Kenya, and WWF shared their insights and visions of conservation powered by creativity.
📸 And for one day, the boundary between tech and trees disappeared.
With over 200 guests including school children, educators, funders, artists, conservationists, and diplomats, the ARGO launch was more than a game drop — it was a story circle.
Thank you to every partner, parent, child, and teacher who helped us bring this vision to life.
This is only the beginning.

The Fallohide Africa team paid a courtesy call to FCA Kenya to officially hand over a donation certificate for two immersive Virtual Reality videos produced for our Creative Industries Program.

These 360° films highlight the program’s transformative impact and are designed to support fundraising efforts by bringing donor audiences closer to the real stories of youth empowerment.

This collaboration also introduces Extended Reality (XR) as a new skill for our creatives—opening up fresh opportunities in the job market and expanding Africa’s creative tech landscape.

By documenting success stories in immersive formats, we aim to inspire further investment in youth talent and showcase how digital creativity can drive social change. This is just the beginning of what’s possible when technology meets purpose.
