International Menstrual Hygiene Day reminds us that menstrual health is not a privilege, but a basic right.

At Simama CBO, we continue creating safe spaces where girls can access knowledge, support, and dignity through menstrual hygiene education. These efforts underscore the importance of protecting health, confidence, and equal opportunities for every child.

Play is an important part of child development. Through games like Ludo, children strengthen critical thinking, patience, teamwork, and decision-making skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Access to creative visual skills remains limited for many young people and children in informal settlements. Through photography training, Simama Community Based Organization-CBO is equipping young people with practical storytelling, communication, and visual media skills that open pathways to learning, self-expression, and future opportunities.

Today, our participants took their first step into the world of programming through a fun drag-and-drop coding session! Using sequential thinking and creativity, they guided a squirrel through a maze to reach its acorn while learning how to stack coding blocks in the correct order. 🐿️🌰

These skill-building sessions are helping our participants grow in confidence, problem-solving, critical thinking, and digital literacy as they prepare for a technology-driven future. One lesson at a time, we are bridging the digital skills gap and nurturing future innovators. 🚀

Today’s powerful session with Edith at Simama CBO created a safe space for girls to openly learn and have honest conversations about their bodies, self-worth, and harmful myths surrounding virginity without shame or fear.

By addressing topics many young girls are often left to figure out alone, we are bridging the gap in education, confidence, and emotional empowerment needed to help girls grow into informed and confident young women. 💜

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminded that healing begins when children are given safe spaces to be heard, supported, and empowered. At Simama CBO, we continue to promote mental wellness through mentorship, psychosocial support, sports, and community-centered programs that nurture confidence, resilience, and hope.
