Celebrating World Environment Day 2026: Planting Seeds for a Greener Future
The Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development proudly joined Alliance High School, Alliance Girls High School, and other distinguished partners in commemorating World Environment Day 2026 through a meaningful environmental conservation initiative.
The celebration brought together students, educators, community leaders, and development partners who united under a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. As part of the day's activities, a total of 1,000 trees were planted, symbolizing a collective pledge to restore ecosystems, combat climate change, and create a greener and healthier future for generations to come.
This tree-planting exercise not only enhanced environmental conservation efforts but also inspired young people to become active champions of environmental protection. The event underscored the power of partnerships and community action in advancing sustainable development goals and safeguarding our planet.
The Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, community resilience, and responsible citizenship. Together, we can nurture a greener future—one tree at a time.

Empowering Youth Through Skills Development in Beauty Therapy & Nail Technology
The Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development (CRMCD) continues to champion youth empowerment through practical vocational skills training aimed at creating sustainable livelihoods and economic independence.
Through our ongoing Nail Technology and Beauty Therapy Training Program, young people are gaining hands-on experience in professional beauty care, personal grooming, customer service, and entrepreneurship skills within the beauty industry. The training equips participants with market-ready skills that can enable them to start small businesses, secure employment opportunities, and improve their socio-economic well-being.
At CRMCD we believe that investing in skills development is investing in stronger communities, self-reliance, and a brighter future for young people.
Together, we are nurturing talent, creating opportunities, and transforming lives through vocational empowerment.
Engagemen📍 Meaningful Engagement – Transforming Civic Participation into Action
The Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development (CRMCD) is proud to have participated in the CSO National Steering Committee Workshop under the META Project, bringing together civil society actors, development partners, and youth leaders committed to strengthening democratic governance and inclusive civic participation in Kenya.
The two-day engagement provided a valuable platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge sharing on enhancing transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in community development processes. Discussions focused on building sustainable partnerships, empowering local communities, and advancing inclusive participation in decision-making.
CRMCD remains committed to promoting community-driven development, strengthening institutional capacity, and mobilizing resources that create lasting social impact across communities.
Together, we continue to transform dialogue into meaningful democratic action for a more inclusive and empowered society.

My name is Brenda Ndege from Kano Kobura, Nyando Constituency in Kisumu County. I am a wife and a mother of one child. I sincerely wish to express my gratitude to the Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development and TIKA for the support extended to us through the Fish Cages Project.
Through this project, I received KES 40,000 after the first harvest. I used part of the funds to expand my small business, while the remaining amount enabled me to purchase a goat, which I anticipate will reproduce twice within the next 12 months. This investment will greatly strengthen my family’s livelihood and improve our economic stability.
The project has not only empowered me financially but has also given me hope and confidence for a better future for my family. I sincerely thank TIKA and the Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development for this impactful support and for transforming the lives of beneficiaries in our community.

The Centre for Resource Mobilization and Community Development proudly celebrates Mama Herinah today one of the outstanding beneficiaries of our Fish Cages Project. Following our first successful harvest, each beneficiary received KES 40,000 in support. Demonstrating remarkable vision and determination, Mama Herinah invested part of her earnings in purchasing a cow, a powerful step toward sustainable livelihood and economic growth.
Her story is a shining example of resilience, smart investment, and the transformative impact of community-driven initiatives. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency-TIKA for making this life-changing project possible. Together, we are not just supporting livelihoods, we are building futures.
