I tried the Oliva Special Release and particularly enjoyed the OC-001 — a cigar that impressed me with its balance, refinement, and depth rather than sheer strength.

The OC-001 leans into a smooth, medium-bodied profile. Right from the first third, you’re met with a creamy texture that complemented my yoghurt there as it was an early morning smoke, further, the creaminess was layered with notes of toasted cedar, light espresso, and a subtle nuttiness that feels very “Oliva” at its core.

As it develops, there’s a gentle sweetness that creeps in and a faint cocoa note giving it a rounded character without becoming heavy.

Construction-wise, it’s exactly what you’d expect from Oliva: clean burn, solid ash, and an effortless draw. The smoke output is generous but not overwhelming, making it an easy, relaxed session rather than something that demands full focus.

What stands out most about the OC-001 is its composure. It doesn’t try to overpower you or reinvent the wheel, it just delivers a consistently elegant experience from start to finish.
