Requirement of Tendering in Kenya

Business Registration.

A Business must be duly registered as a business name or a limited liability company to qualify for any tender. It must be noted that there are instances where other organizations such as clubs, Associations, NGO’s may qualify to tender.

Tax Registration.
All the Prequalification require an organization that is a registered Taxpayer in Kenya-by-Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). Most companies will ask for PIN certificate by KRA.

County Single Business Permit.
To Prequalify for procurement a Business or an organization needs to have a valid and current Business Permit.

Tax Compliance.
Besides the company being a registered Taxpayer in Kenya, you will be required to provide a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) to qualify for any tender.

Statutory Compliance.
Subject to the nature of procurement and the guiding regulations, Pre-qualification applications need to be accompanied by statutory compliance and registrations.

Company Profile.
Even though this is not a mandatory requirement, most organizations as for a detailed company profile to be attached during prequalification.
