At times, HR can feel like Chinua Achebe’s “enemy of the people”, yet it also reflects Peter Drucker’s timeless reminder that “culture eats strategy for breakfast” because, beyond policies and procedures, HR remains the silent defender, advocate, and custodian of people and culture.

HR goes far beyond recruitment and the termination note.

It drives retention.
Builds culture.
Aligns people to purpose.
Protects values.
Develops leadership.
Manages conflict.
Preserves dignity.

It's the delicate bridge between management and employees.

So today, to every HR professional out there, thank you.
Thank you for carrying both strategy and empathy.
Thank you for balancing policy with humanity.

Life will not always give you what you want. Sometimes it will. But even when it doesn't, your greatest weapon is your mindset. It is for you to look at each day and see the best thing that it carries.

I know sometimes even when we talk about turning obstacles into opportunities you don't see how that can work because of your current circumstances.

The things that surround you are so heavy that you cannot wrap your mind around them.

Sometimes the situation has been in a certain way for too long that your mind and everything in you has gotten used to staying in it.

And giving up therefore seems and feels like the easiest thing to do. And sometimes it is.

However, when we search deep within us - genuinely search - we may find a small layer of hope. That little voice that whispers "I'll get past this" or "tomorrow will be better" or "I know I'll rise again". That's all you need.

That's the little spark that you ought to learn how to turn it into a flame. And that right there, is the thing that will make you not quit.

It could be all the job you have to do today. To put your focus on that spark. To work the grace that surrounds it. And to not quit. That little act, counts.

So today, if you feel like it's time to throw in the towel, don't. I see you. I feel you. I have been there. Hang on right there. A little more. If there's nothing else to do, just do this one thing - stay on that hope. Hold on to it.

Some days, the only job you have is to not quit - and that counts! Keep hanging there. You can come out of it. You will. You are Limitless! You have what it takes. You were born to win! I got you. God got you! Don't quit!

I’m excited to share that I recently joined 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 as 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 – 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐮 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 for the Unlocking Opportunities Program.

In this role, I support youth with disabilities in multidimensional development through inclusive economic empowerment by advancing skills development and pathways to employment across Embu, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, and Meru counties, with Embu serving as the regional hub.

Joining Next Step Foundation is not just another professional role for me. It reflects a deeply held conviction that every person deserves the opportunity to realize their potential, regardless of circumstance. Over the years, I have witnessed how many young people with disabilities are excluded—not due to lack of ability, but because systems and opportunities are not designed with inclusion in mind. Being part of the work to change that reality is both a responsibility and a calling.

At NSF, the focus is on empowering young women and men with disabilities by equipping them with market-relevant skills, advancing digital inclusion, and creating clear pathways to dignified, sustainable employment and economic participation.

I look forward to working closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), county stakeholders, TVETs, and training partners to expand access to opportunity and meaningful participation.

For me, this work reflects a deeper belief that 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥—𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦.

Church Leadership Training! ❤️

Last Sunday, I had the humbling privilege of being hosted by the esteemed woman of God, Bishop Mary Bahati at Spiritual Life Center, Eldoret, courtesy of my father in faith, Bishop C J Atemo.

It was such an honour to teach the inaugural Leadership Class for 2026, engaging pastors, leaders, and ministry workers on Positioning for Kingdom Impact by Aligning to Vision and Purpose.

We had a deeply impactful session as we set pace for the year 2026 and beyond. We explored practical ways to strengthen church leadership, because when leadership is aligned, ex*****on becomes easier, and purpose gains meaning.

We reflected on three critical anchors: Alignment, the place of service and staying focused on the right things.

One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned in my 15 years of serving across various ministry departments is that;

👉 Alignment without service leads to disconnection.
👉 Service without alignment leads to frustration.
👉 Focus without alignment leads to wasted effort.

Therefore, as church leaders, our vision and that of the church we serve in, must have an intersection for effectiveness and growth.

Thank you, Mama, Bishop Bahati, for the privilege to serve and build the Kingdom in your vineyard. Thank you Bishop CJ Atemo for believing in me to stand in for you. It's a great honour!
