The Safety and Wellbeing for Women in Fisheries (SWWF) project is progressing well following a successful baseline survey with BMU members in Lunga Lunga, Kwale County.

Today, interviews for women applicants to serve as GBV Champions were successfully conducted, resulting in the selection of 30 participants. They will undergo a 10-day Trauma-Informed Community Empowerment (TICE) training.

This marks an important step in advancing the safety and wellbeing of women in fisheries.

Alhamdulillah! Our A*O First Annual Iftar was a beautiful and successful gathering filled with unity, compassion, and hope.

We were honored by the presence of Mheshimiwa Mishi Mboko (MP Likoni) and Hon. Salim Mbaya (MCA Timbwani) who joined us in breaking the fast. Also present was Shonda Area Chief, Mr. Sadiq, and we sincerely thank him for joining us on this special occasion.

Special thanks to our sister school and partner Greenleaf Integrated Academy, as well as our mentors and JASAC program beneficiaries for making the evening lively and meaningful.
Together, we shared not only a meal, but also the spirit of community, generosity, and restoring hope.

As we conclude this year’s implementation of the Jamii Safe Space Circle (JasaC) Program, we reflect on a project that was designed to promote mental well-being, empower youth with livelihood skills, and nurture them as valuable resources within their communities.

The program has positively impacted young people who, in one way or another, will contribute meaningfully to society.

These achievements were made possible through the generous support of our partners and Mary Hoch Center for Reconciliation , led by Antti, Mohammed, and Mike. Your commitment and partnership played a vital role in the successful delivery of the program and the transformation witnessed among our beneficiaries.

On behalf of the beneficiaries and the wider community, we extend our sincere gratitude.

We look forward to more opportunities, continued partnership, and working together again in 2027 to create even greater impact.

This year, through the Thriving Through Play (TTP) Project, we focused on creating safe spaces for children to build resilience, emotional well-being, and positive connections through play. The project reached over 500 students across different schools, leaving a lasting impact within their schools and communities.

This was made possible by the generous support of our partners, especially the Global Fund for Children (GFC). Your support was critical in helping us achieve these milestones.

On behalf of the beneficiaries and the wider community, we sincerely thank you. We look forward to building on this impact and doing even more together in 2027 and beyond.
