Communities that live in ASALs require accurate and actionable information in order to mitigate shocks and stresses that are caused by drought. CSD, with support from USAID Kenya (Resilience Learning Activity) held an Inaugural Resilience Learning Fair at the prestigious Taita Taveta University on 16th June 2022. The event brought together USAID Implementing Partners in South-Eastern Kenya, National Drought Management Authority, Taita Taveta County, the host university and the private sector. Through this activity, CSD demonstrated that through such events, organizations can share knowledge and information with communities for purposes of climate adaptation and resilience building.

Organizational agility and performance

Under the prevailing global business environment that has been suppressed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ability of an organization to rapidly adapt to changes in the market is a key determinant for organizational performance. This capability (agility) of an organization to renew itself, adapt, change quickly, and succeed in a rapidly changing, ambiguous and turbulent environment is a way of organizing and working that is responsible for above-average organizational performance. Agile organizations drive strategic business goals in more effective ways that improve margins, predictability, and profitability. Agility avails organizations the capacity to recognize opportunities for innovation and respond to those opportunities and quickly redesign processes to take advantage of market conditions; and respond quickly to emerging market opportunities.
