The women separate the nuts into different sizes and separate the good ones from those that still need to be chopped, i.e. the nuts that are infested with insects but can still be processed.

2. Shell separation - the nuts are separated from the shell after cracking.

This is how the nuts come out of the cracker, after which the shells and nuts are separated.

When the nuts come out of the dryer they are sorted by size and then cracked. The cracker has rollers on which you can adjust the gap width. Smaller nuts require a smaller gap. The larger the nuts are, the larger the gap is set so that only the shell is cracked and the actual nut remains whole.

The nuts are removed from the dryer, weighed and then sized with the sieve and then they go into the cracker.
