Religious organisations continue to make significant contributions to national development. They work closely with the government in the provision of education and training, and health among others.

Met the leadership of Akorino Church at State House Nairobi. The religious group has embarked on an investment drive, especially the establishment of savings and credit cooperatives, for its members in the counties.

The government will work with the church in training and building capacity in the management of saccos.

The team was led by Runyenjes MP Muchangi Karemba and Bishop Petro Kamuyu, the national chair of the Akorino Israel Organisation.

The ties between Kenya and Italy go back to the 1960s and have been mutually beneficial to the two countries and peoples. The two nations also share common positions on global issues, including support for multi-lateralism.

The recent Italy-Africa Summit has taken the relationship to a new level. Consequently, the two countries are discussing major programmes in agriculture, climate change and clean energy.

Met Mr Stefano Gatti, Director General for Development Cooperation in Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who led a government delegation to Kenya, who led a government delegation to Kenya.

The team is following up on the agreed agenda between the two countries during the Italy-Africa Summit.
