Budget Crisis: Controller Halts Trans Nzoia Funds for Third Time Over Non-Compliance Despite Treasury Release

Trans Nzoia County is in the grip of a financial crisis after the Controller of Budget allegedly rejected the county’s budget for the third time, citing non-compliance and documentation issues.

Despite the County Assembly approving the budget and the National Treasury disbursing funds, the Controller has declined to authorize withdrawals ,a mandatory step under Section 109(6) of the Public Finance Management Act.
This latest rejection has left county workers unpaid for three months, pending bills piling up, and essential services stalled, putting the Natembeya-led administration under growing public and political pressure.

SAD BREAKING NEWS; Reports reaching us indicates that a shocking and deeply troubling incident has just taken place outside Milimani Law Courts.

Hon. John Chigi Makhanu (MCA Sinyereri Ward), Emmanuel Wanjala (Governor Natembeya's Personal Assistant), Felix Sialo (Director of Communications), Martin Waliula (Chairman Nawiri Programme officer), and Dean Frank (Governor Natembeya's Protocol Officer) have reportedly been abducted by unknown individuals outside Milimani law courts.

The five were in the company of Governor George Natembeya when they were violently seized and bundled into a Subaru vehicle by unidentified persons. They were then driven away to an unknown location.

Their whereabouts remain unclear.

This morning,Governor George Natembeya is scheduled to appear before a Principal Magistrate at the Milimani Law Courts for the mention of his case.

Information reaching our desk is that former MCA Motosiet Ward Hon Bernard Aliangana Bcool was today "abducted" at his home and he is currently being held in a police station in Eldoret. The reasons for his arrest are still unknown. This government pooo. The intimidation tactics won't work. Take him to court we want to know the reason he was arrested
