Greenleaf Development Initiative is a legally registered community-based non–profit organisation that advocates for children's rights to education, food, shelter, and proper care.
We believe that when we contribute to others' success with love, we are “Providing Space for More Lives” through hands for charity and heart for love.

In the last five years since its founding, Greenleaf Development Initiative CBO has played a major role in contributing to the success of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), and underprivileged families within Kisumu City in Kenya.

We therefore request for partnership with you to support this program that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs). Any kind of donations will give us the jumpstart we need while we continue to implement our recently developed fundraising plan of $5,000 for this last quarter of the year to help us purchase sanitary towels (napkins) for our young vulnerable girls, donations of food to the orphanages and economically empower widows within our community.

Today, we're celebrating a major milestone! It's our 5th anniversary! 🎉
​Five years ago, we started with a simple mission: to support vulnerable families and Orphans to help them realise their potential in their dreams and restore their hopes in their life journey. Thanks to our incredible community—our volunteers, donors, partners, and supporters—we've been able to provide basic items like books. Uniforms, fees for several vulnerable children, provision of sanitary towels to our young girls yearly and social support to our mothers within the Kanyakwar community.
​This anniversary isn't just a celebration of us; it's a celebration of you. Every hour you've volunteered, every dollar you've donated, and every share you've posted have made a difference. We can't wait to see what we can accomplish together in the next five years.

As we close the month of May, we are thrilled to meet with our women to discuss the challenges they are currently facing. Such was an amazing interaction putting a smile on each one's face.

At Greenleaf Development Initiative, we’re raising funds and promoting initiatives to help those who need it most. With an array of fundraising events and volunteer projects, we welcome you to join our endeavors aimed at making the world a better place.

African women face a multitude of challenges that hinder their progress and limit their potential. Some of the most pressing issues include:

Gender-Based Violence:This includes physical, sexual, and emotional violence, which is prevalent in many African societies.

Limited Access to Education: Many girls and women are denied access to education, limiting their opportunities for economic and social advancement.

Discrimination and Inequality: Women often face discrimination in various aspects of life, including employment, property ownership, and inheritance rights.

Poverty: Poverty disproportionately affects women, as they often bear the brunt of household responsibilities and have limited economic opportunities.

Lack of Access to Healthcare: Many women lack access to quality healthcare, particularly maternal and reproductive health services.
Harmful Traditional Practices: Practices like early marriage, female ge***al mutilation (FGM), and forced marriage continue to harm women and girls.

Climate Change: Climate change disproportionately affects women, as they are often responsible for household food security and water collection.

These challenges are interconnected and often exacerbated by societal norms and cultural practices. To address these issues, it is crucial to promote gender equality, empower women, and create supportive environments that enable them to reach their full potential.

We are in October, and we are always grateful for our friends, partners, and families who value our assignments in whatever we do to greatly impact our communities positively.
