We celebrate the strength, beauty, and brilliance of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kilifi County and across Kenya.
💪 We are not broken. We are bold.
Disability is not something to be ashamed of; it is part of our identity. It is part of human diversity. And it deserves respect.

📢 Inclusion is our right not charity.
We call on our leaders, communities, and institutions to:
✅ Make schools and workplaces accessible
✅ Include PWDs in decision-making
✅ Provide equal healthcare and services
✅ Eliminate stigma and discrimination

We are artists, farmers, teachers, leaders, and parents.
We have dreams. We have voices.

DIWA is a Community based organization born from tragedy, resilience, and hope. It was founded in 2013 by a brave woman whose life was forever changed in April 2010 after a devastating road accident. The accident left her with a physical disability and claimed the life of her 3.5-year-old daughter.

In the midst of unimaginable grief, she slowly came to accept her new reality. She registered as a person with a disability and began to rebuild not just her life, but her purpose.

The pain of losing her child, coupled with the overwhelming support her family received from the community, became a powerful driving force.

That love and kindness lit a fire in her heart a desire to give back. DIWA was created to honor that spirit, offering support, empowerment, and a sense of belonging to others navigating similar paths.

Today, the organization stands as a symbol of healing and strength, deeply rooted in the power of turning pain into purpose..
