The Embu County Government through the Department of Roads today conducted a technical inspection of the Kenya Roads Board (KRB) funded Marurumo Wango Kaseve Road project in Mwea Ward, Mbeere South Constituency.
The inspection was carried out by a multisectoral committee comprising representatives from the Departments of Finance and Procurement, the Governor's Delivery Unit, the Ward Administrator's office and members of the local community.
The committee assessed the works undertaken on the road, including opening up of new sections, grading and murraming. Members expressed satisfaction with the quality of work delivered by the contractor and confirmed that the project had met the required standards.
Residents welcomed the improvements, saying the road will significantly ease movement within the area and facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce and other goods to markets.
The project is funded through the Kenya Roads Board programme and forms part of the county government's efforts to improve rural road connectivity and support economic development at the grassroots.
The successful implementation of the project underscores the commitment of Cecily Mbarire to expanding infrastructure across Embu County. Through continued investment in roads and other key development projects, the county administration is working to enhance access to markets, services and opportunities for residents while accelerating economic growth in all parts of the county.
