Resurrection is Quiet.
Easter has just passed… We reflected on death and resurrection. On sacrifice. On rising again. But if we’re honest…those stories are not just in scripture. They are happening in the lives of men every day. Because truth ismany men are walking around looking alive… …but something in them died a long time ago. A relationship ended.A version of themselves they no longer recognise....

Healing Without Losing Your Edge
One fear many men have about healing is this: “If I soften, will I lose my edge?” We confuse gentleness with weakness.Reflection with passivity.Emotional intelligence with surrender. But healing does not remove your strength. It clarifies it. An unhealed man reacts.A healed man responds. An unhealed man controls.A healed man leads. An unhealed man avoids.A healed man confronts calmly....

When Provision Becomes Identity.
I can build without losing myself.I can strive without self-hatred.I can grow without measuring my humanity in revenue. For many men, provision is not just responsibility. It becomes identity. “I am what I provide.” So when business struggles…When finances dip…When opportunities delay… It doesn’t just feel like a setback. It feels like a personal failure. But a man is more than his bank balance....

The Performance of Strength.
We were taught how to perform strength long before we understood what strength was. Stand tall.Don’t complain.Handle it.Figure it out.Don’t let them see you sweat. Somewhere along the way, strength became theatre. We mastered the look. The controlled tone. The steady posture. We learned how to look calm while drowning. How to smile while overwhelmed. How to provide while breaking....

Faith, Culture, and the Man I Am Becoming
Faith and culture shape a man long before he learns to question either. For many African men, Christianity and tradition are not abstract ideas they are inherited frameworks. They teach us how to pray, how to lead, how to relate, how to discipline, how to endure. They give us language for meaning and belonging. But they can also, at times, give us rules without room for reflection....

Unhealed Men in Relationships: What We Pass On
Most men enter relationships with good intentions. We want to love well. We want to be respected. We want peace, companionship, and connection. But intention alone is not enough. What we bring into relationships is shaped not only by who we are now, but by what we have lived, learned, and left unresolved. An unhealed man does not enter a relationship alone he arrives with his past....

Men Don’t Cry and the Damage It Does
“Men don’t cry.” It’s one of the earliest lessons many boys learn. Sometimes it’s spoken. Often, it’s demonstrated. Tears are met with silence, discomfort, or ridicule. Strength is praised. Emotion is discouraged. Over time, the message becomes internalised: Feel it, but don’t show it or better yet, don’t feel it at all. Among African men especially, this lesson is reinforced by culture, survival, and expectation....

Why I Chose to Start These Conversations
For a long time, I believed that being a man meant carrying things quietly. You learn early sometimes from culture, sometimes from religion, sometimes from survival that strength looks like silence. Among African men especially, we are taught to be tough, not to cry, not to complain, not to “break.” We are told to endure, to provide, to protect, to move forward even when things inside us remain unresolved....
