⚡️notice of price increase and non-refundable deposit for new clients starting 3/28/2024⚡️

due to increasing product and shipping fees for our products, which are primarily imported from the us and uk, coupled with yen inflation, we have unfortunately had to raise our chemical service prices. we have also taken our technical skill, additional training, 30+ years of experience and time necessary for each service into consideration. complex colour services can take over 2 hours to apply, even with two of us working together. clients are welcome to discuss their individual budgets with us, and we will do our best to provide the best service to suit their needs.

in addition, due to a number of no-shows and last minute cancellations by new clients as of late, we have made the decision to require deposits for all new clients. this deposit is transferable if rescheduling is necessary with proper notice, but is non-refundable. once your first appointment is booked, we will send you a digital invoice, to be paid within 24 hours. no-shows and last-minute cancellations will result in forfeiture of said deposit. we are sorry this is how it has to be, but too many people have taken advantage of our time and efforts to continue without.

*colour prices vary by length, thickness and colour history of the hair. please feel free to dm us to arrange for a free consultation appointment so we may offer the most precise pricing.

**[a]narchy is by appointment only. new clients, please dm us with photos of your current hairstyle (showing length and colour), (if applicable) inspiration photos, and please include the following information:

1. colour history (is your hair virgin hair? do you currently colour it [if so, please tell us when and especially if it was box colour]?)
2. chemical history: have you permed your hair or had it chemically straightened?
3. do you have any skin sensitivities or allergies?

based on the above information, we can consult and discuss whether your desired colour is realistic in one sitting, or possible with your hair’s colour history and condition in mind.**

please note that we do not accept appointments for children under 13 for bleach services, and considering the safety and comfort of our clients for long services, we do not accept bleach/colour services for expecting mothers 8 months or later into their pregnancy. we appreciate your understanding.

since we’ve never properly introduced ourselves here, we are kaytea and kazu, the [a]narchy team.

we originally met in london, at the legendary alt extension pioneer salon, . we got married, came to harajuku and opened [a]narchy together with no connections or clients. although it wasn’t our plan, we accidentally revived the dying cyber scene in tokyo, and our plastic haired clients adorned pages of street snap magazines like tune and kera. back then, 90% of our clients were extensions.

in 2010, we relocated to los angeles and got back into ‘mainstream hair’, working at renowned salons in west hollywood and beverly hills. it was during this period that we realised we wanted to be a strictly alt hair salon, doing what we wanted to do (but using the techniques we learned from some of the best), and relocated to okinawa, japan (where kazu is originally from).

15 years after our original [a]narchy location opened, we brought it back, again, in a place where we had no rapport or client base (we like challenges, apparently). on 11/10/2023, we celebrated [a]narchy’s 3rd anniversary here and hope to keep the momentum going.

we specialise in vivids, alt extensions and wigs, and offer zero silver or natural colour services. we still listen to a lot of punk in the shop. we are always looking for more clients who aren’t interested in blending in, so please shoot us a dm if that’s you!
