大屋根の下で“離れ”を感じる。
東京アメリカンクラブ宿泊エリア改装計画の第1期。
多様な人々が大きな屋根の下で緩やかにつながる「ジャイアントハウス」の思想を背景に、
コミュニティの中にありながらも、
静かに自分自身へ戻るための“離れ”のような空間を目指した。
柔らかな光や風、自然の気配を室内へ丁寧に取り込み、
大きな窓から差し込む光が素材と調和し穏やかに拡散することで、
時間の移ろいや自然の美しさに静かに意識が向く場所として計画している。

A Retreat Beneath the Great Roof
Inspired by the “Giant House” philosophy of the Tokyo American Club, 
this project creates a Japanese-style “Hanare” 
— a quiet retreat within a larger community.
Named “ZEN,” the space blends soft light, natural materials, 
and traces of nature to offer a calm oasis in the heart of the city.

一人ひとりが自分だけの場所を見つけられるよう、
座ったときの視線が緩やかに制御されるよう家具を配置。

チェアや造作ソファには、身体をあずけるような沈み込みを持たせ、
思考が静かにほどけていく時間を支える。

The furniture is arranged so that each person can find their own space and so that their line of sight is gently guided when seated.
The chairs and custom-built sofas are designed to offer a deep, enveloping seat that allows one to relax, supporting moments when thoughts quietly unwind.

デジタルから離れ、ただ「いる」ことが許される場所。

静けさが思考を深め、遮断が感性を呼び戻す。
没入ではなく、回帰のための没入。
その余白の中で、次の気づきがふと立ち上がるように。

A lounge for the in-between.
Nothing is required—only to be, away from the digital.
Silence deepens thought; disconnection restores the senses.
Immersion, as return.

没入感を取り戻す、それぞれのための余白。

DIC堺工場のリフレッシュスペースのデザイン。
特別感と静寂に満ちたデトックスラウンジをコンセプトに、
何も求められない時間と、ただ「いる」ことが許される場をつくる。
静けさに身を委ね、思考がほどける。
その余白から、次の気づきが、ふと立ち上がる。

Space to regain a sense of immersion.
A refresh space at DIC’s Sakai factory,
conceived as a quiet detox lounge—
a place where nothing is required,
and one is simply allowed to be.
In stillness, the mind loosens.
From that margin, new awareness emerges.

グレーのファサードが既存と増床の建物を繋ぐ。
内部は過去の姿を活かしつつ新しく手を加えるところを吟味し、
それぞれのエリアを回遊することで、

ブランドの持つ姿勢と理念を静かに浸透させていく。
A grey façade unifies the existing building and its extension.
Inside, interventions are carefully restrained—preserving the past while creating a quiet, balanced backdrop for the furniture.

手を加えるところを吟味し、
素晴らしい家具たちのささやかで中庸な背景としての空間に。
With a measured hand,
intervening only where it truly matters,

the space gently recedes—
a quiet, neutral ground held in balance,
neither asserting nor disappearing,

allowing each piece of furniture to settle into its own presence,
and to be seen, softly, as it is.

もとの素材に呼応するリジェネラティブな空間を目指して。
Aiming to create a regenerative space that harmonizes with the original materials.

Traces of someone’s movements remain on the worn floor.
Beneath the uniform grid of the ceiling, only time seems to sway.
I imagine the scent of coffee quietly lingering in this space.

素材ごとの経年の差異がその空間に層をつくる。
Time does not flow uniformly.

Peeling paint, rusted iron,
the luster of wood worn smooth by touch.

Within the continuous flow of the staircase,
light and wear quietly intertwine,
and movement gradually gives way to stillness.
So that the traces of time become part of the texture itself.

Uneven walls,
worn tatami mats,
flickering light.

Not overly polished,
but a space that comes to life through what is left behind.
