It's been a minute but can't think of a better time to pop up than on Jamaica's birthday. I can't tell what it's like to call another country home. What I can tell you that there is an immense pride and joy that comes with being Jamaican. This island is far from perfect, sometimes it's a love/hate relationship. There are lot of obstacles to overcome and lots of growing left to do. Each day on this island is a chance to discover her beauty and fall in love all over again. Happy Independence Jamaica! You're 58 and resilient.

I have a fascination with birds and always try to take photos of them. According to the guide on the Black River Safari tour this is a Black Crowned Night Heron. It was nice visiting my home town and doing this tour as an adult. The Black River is home to over 100 different species of birds. It's also home to over 500 American Crocodiles which are endangered species.
