2026 has started off with a bang. These are pictures from our opening welcome dinner
I’m proud to say this is the 5th staging of my Jamaica investment conference. Some attendees have been to multiple stagings. Some have come every single year. And some haven’t been back to Jamaica in 20 years and chose Throp-X as the reason for their first trip home!
We have attendees from all walks of life, each on a different part of their Jamaica journey. This is the largest group we’ve ever had that’s already living in Jamaica. We also have folks from all over the US and Canada, and some who flew in from as far as the UK
All this means so much to me. There are some really amazing people in this group. This is just the beginning
Throp-X week is here! This is what you can expect from the conference
In this video, we break down the proposed Negril Destination Plan and explore the bold ideas that could transform Negril and Jamaica’s tourism industry for generations to come.
From upgraded infrastructure and transportation systems to sustainable development, tourism expansion, and investment opportunities. We will discuss the vision, the possibilities, and the concerns surrounding the future of one of Jamaica’s most iconic destinations.
Do you think Negril can become one of the Caribbean’s most advanced tourism hubs while still protecting its culture, beaches, and identity?
Share your thoughts in the comments and let’s keep the conversation going.
Jamaica is divided over the revival of the iconic “Hill and Gully” folk song.
Some call it creative expression and the evolution of dancehall culture. Others believe it’s disrespecting Jamaican heritage for trends and viral moments.
In this conversation, Professor and Socio-Cultural Analyst in the Institute of Caribbean Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona,Donna Hope, along with Musician and Founder of Fab 5 Franklyn “Frankie” Campbell OD, will discuss dancehall, culture, identity, and the future of Jamaica’s musical legacy.
Is this a revival of the culture… or are we losing it?

I did an interview on CVM last night about Throp-X, my upcoming real estate and investment conference in Negril
We got into some of the exciting changes coming to the area, including the Negril International Airport and the long-awaited new building ordinance
In case you haven't heard, developers will soon be allowed to build "taller than the tallest coconut tree" in Negril. NOT skyscrapers but a big step up from where things stand today
We're lucky to have both the Airports Authority of Jamaica and the National Environmental Planning Agency (NEPA) joining us at Throp-X to present on these changes firsthand.
Thank you CVM for having me
Negril, Jamaica. May 24–30, 2026. Link to register in our bio
Throp-X is next weekend and we are extremely proud to have The Kalilah Reynolds as this year's host! This is the 5th staging of my Jamaica real estate and investment conference
Land ownership in Jamaica is far more complicated than most people realise especially for land passed down to family members without proper legal paperwork.
A lot of Jamaicans are living on land they still can’t properly title, sell, or borrow against. In this episode we will discuss the cause and possible solution for this problem with the implementation of the 1.42 billion Korean-Jamaica partnership to modernise land titling.

This is bigger than a viral moment. This is a reminder of what Jamaica represents to the world.
