Connected Girls, Creating Brighter Futures!

Connected Girls, Creating Brighter Futures is the theme for this years International Girls in ICT Day.

The jobs of the future will be driven by technology and innovation. Teaching our Girls tech skills at a young age will set them apart for economic independence.

While it is easy to get distracted by the highlights of the latest iPhone or the invention of Tesla cars, one must never forget the first pioneers who stood behind the wheels of this innovation. While the media is inundated with a lot of White inventors who have made significant strides in this area, Black inventors are often overlooked and their work undermined or sometimes patented under a White name!

To all women, never stop demanding your rights. For it easy to challenge stereotypes but it doesn't change if we don't start changing ourselves first.
