GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accounting Associate is accountable for the accurate and timely delivery of assigned day to day financial duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Preparation of Financial Statements and other accounting related reports to include disclosure notes for audited financial statements
• Preparation of corporation tax returns
• Analysis of General Ledger accounts;
• Reconciliation of sub ledger accounts to general ledger
• Preparation of bank reconciliation statements;
• Provides support and co-ordination to external auditors during external audits;
• Liaising with banks, suppliers, regulators and service providers on a regular basis;
• Preparation and filing of the appropriate statutory returns & GCT to Tax Administration Jamaica

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Pursuing ACCA Level II or possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ accounting
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Accounting software packages AccPac/Sage 50 accounting is an asset
• Pursuing professional accreditation in Finance/Accounting e.g. ACCA, CPA, is an asset
• At least two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong knowledge of current IFRS, Jamaican laws and standards
• Detail oriented and the ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines
