This handwritten, signed letter was sent from James Stewart to John Wayne to celebrate Wayne's birthday. The letter is undated, but is believed to date from May 1979.

The text reads: "Dear Duke, Happy birthday and we send you our best wishes and respect, and admiration and love - Gloria and Jim."
