16-passes
When a large-format printer produces a print, the print head moves back and forth laying down ink. Each movement is a 'pass'. More passes = richer colour, finer detail, smoother gradients, reduced banding, and better durability.
Most UK suppliers print at 12 passes. We print at 16.
It takes longer. That's a trade-off we make deliberately, because print that represents your business should look like it.
Most people ordering print don't know to ask about pass count. Now you do.
Want to see the difference in person? Come into our showroom and we'll show you samples side by side.

Skills Jersey
Your design looks great on screen. But is it actually ready to print?
Artwork is where more print jobs go wrong than almost anywhere else and most of the time it comes down to a few things that sound complicated but really aren't.
Here's a quick glossary:
π¨ RGB vs CMYK - screens use light to make colour (RGB), print uses ink (CMYK). Send us an RGB file and colours can shift, sometimes dramatically. Always design for print in CMYK.
π DPI - stands for Dots Per Inch. It's how sharp your image is. 300 DPI = crisp and clear. 72 DPI (typical for web images) = blurry when printed. You can't fix a low-res image by making the file bigger, it just stretches the blur.
βοΈ Bleed - if your design runs colour or images right to the edge, you need to extend it 3mm beyond the trim line. Without it, tiny variations in cutting can leave an unintended white border. That extra 3mm gets trimmed away and gives you a clean edge.
π₯οΈ Can I use Canva? - often yes, if you export correctly. Use PDF format at 300 DPI. Just be aware Canva works in RGB by default, so for brand-critical colour accuracy it's worth checking with us first.
Not sure if your artwork is print-ready? Send it to us to check over, we'd always rather flag something early. π

Most people think about what their print looks like. Fewer people think about what it's printed on.
The substrate, the material your design is printed onto, makes the difference between print that lasts years and print that fades, cracks, or peels within months.
Jersey's coastal salt air and strong light are particularly demanding on outdoor materials. Something that holds up on the mainland can deteriorate significantly faster here.
Before recommending any material, we always ask:
π Where will it live?
π What's the environment like?
π How long does it need to last?
π Will it be handled?
The right substrate isn't the most expensive one, it's the right one for the job. Not sure what your project needs?

Proud to helpCollas Crill bring their re-energised brand to life in their Jersey office. Reception and directional signage play a key role in reinforcing a brand's identity, and this one was a pleasure to work with.

More than an exhibition β it was a moment of seeing people differently.
Reframing Dementia, presented by ArtHouse Jersey and Dementia Jersey, transformed public spaces in St Helier into powerful encounters of empathy, dignity and connection.
Featuring intimate portraits of nine Islanders living with dementia, the work of Paul Chambers, Sophie Darwin, Oliver Doran, Γtienne LainΓ© and Natalie Mayer invited the public to look beyond diagnosis and into lived experience β full of individuality, resilience and quiet joy.
A reminder that every person carries a story worth seeing, remembering, and respecting.
Proud to have supported the visibility of meaningful public storytelling through impactful display and signage by Signtech.
Made in Jersey, Made to Last.
Here's something most businesses don't realise: the red on your business card probably isn't the same red as the one on your signage. Or your van. Or your shopfront.
Colour accuracy in print is a technical process, not a happy accident.
β
Screens use light (RGB). Print uses ink (CMYK). They don't automatically match.
β
The material you print on changes how ink looks - gloss, matt, fabric, foam board all behave differently.
β
Printers drift over time. Regular calibration matters.
Quick tip: Gather everything printed with your brand on it and hold it side by side. If the colours don't match closely, it's worth flagging before your next order.

We're calling it Made in Jersey, Made to Last - because that's exactly what we aim to produce.
First up: meet some of the team behind the work. These are the people who care about your print as much as you do. π
