Nos complace anunciar que la formación italiana de metal moderno, Dust ha lanzado oficialmente su esperado segundo álbum de estudio titulado "Thoughts Of A Falling Man", disponible a nivel mundial desde hoy, 3 de abril de 2026, bajo el sello Rockshots Records. 🇮🇹🎸

Este trabajo marca una evolución decisiva hacia un terreno más pesado e introspectivo. Concebido como un viaje conceptual cercano a la muerte, el álbum explora el colapso psicológico y el limbo espiritual a través de una narrativa visceral. 🌑✨

Musicalmente, DUST presenta su obra más intransigente: una fusión técnica de death metal, groove, thrash y atmósferas de black metal. Con riffs afilados y una tensión constante, la banda consolida un paisaje sonoro cohesivo y opresivo. 🤜💥

Concept albums can often collapse under the weight of their own ambition, but 'Thoughts Of A Falling Man' sees DUST walk a precarious line between narrative depth and sonic brutality with notable success. Framed as a near-death experience, the album plunges headfirst into themes of guilt, judgement, and spiritual disintegration—territory that demands both conviction and cohesion.

From the atmospheric “Intro” into the jarring surge of “Before Your Awaken”, the band establish a suffocating tone that rarely relents. Musically, DUST sharpen their attack compared to their debut, merging metal aggression with groove-laden rhythms, flashes of thrash urgency, and blackened overtones. The result is a sound that feels deliberately claustrophobic—tight, oppressive, and unyielding.

Tracks like “Death’s Ashes Upon Me” and “Contemptus Mundi” deliver punishing riff work, while “Fragments of Mirror” introduces a more introspective edge without sacrificing intensity. The title track stands as the album’s centre-piece, balancing atmosphere and ferocity while embodying the record’s conceptual descent into existential free-fall.

However, it’s not without its flaws. The density of the material, while thematically appropriate, can blur distinctions between tracks, occasionally making the listening experience feel more like a continuous assault than a series of defined movements. That said, this very suffocation may well be intentional—mirroring the album’s narrative of spiraling consciousness.

Performance-wise, Riccardo Pirozzi’s vocals cut through with venom and authority, while the dual guitar work of Stefano D’Angelo and Federico Ignini provides both crushing weight and eerie texture. The rhythm section ensures the album never loses its footing, even at its most chaotic.

'Thoughts Of A Falling Man' is a bold step forward—darker, tighter, and more conceptually unified. It may not offer easy listening, but that’s precisely its strength.
