Patera and Sbra Perego, namely tying literature and art with a thread.
Their collaboration combines both experiences for a common work, with the intention of being a bridge, a confluence of the two domains.

Our collaborative work Endurance, created with photographer Ivan Piano, has been on view since yesterday as part of the group exhibition Un tempo altro. Estetica della lentezza, curated by Barbara Pavan within the Biennale OFF program of the 3rd International Biennial of Contemporary Fiber Art in Valtopina.

Endurance, 2026
Giclée print on fine art photographic paper, gold thread, nails
34 × 25.5 cm
Endurance emerged from a dialogue between Piano’s photograph Chart Paper (2025), from the series Wunderkammer Vanitas, and Patera and Perego’s tableau Can You Understand? (2022). Gold thread and nails bring together the prolonged time of pinhole photography and the patient, repetitive gestures of embroidery. Words become gestures before becoming legible signs, shifting attention from the finished work to the process and the time held within it.
On view through September 6, 2026

Today marks the opening of Un tempo altro. Estetica della lentezza, a group exhibition curated by Barbara Pavan as part of Biennale OFF, the expanded program of the 3rd International Biennial of Contemporary Fiber Art in Valtopina.
The exhibition includes a work we created from a pinhole photograph by Ivan Piano, intervening directly on the image through embroidery.
The extended exposure time of pinhole photography meets the patient, repeated gesture of needle and thread: two languages that share slowness as a form of attention, transforming the image into a space for dialogue.

Rushing on My Sight
A site-responsive video installation created at Rosekill Art Farm through video mapping onto objects found on site.
The work reflects on the passage of time—different ages brought into dialogue, different generations. At the same time, it explores allegories of time: in passing, in growth, and in the richness of details. How many points of view are needed to form a whole? How much can the eye contain?
One of the video sequences and the sound are excerpted from Il fuoco che avevamo dentro (The Fire We Had Inside), a film by Maurizio and Fabio Bonfanti.

A small video mapping presented last Saturday inside the kitchen cabinets of the NooArts house on Governors Island.
The projection inhabited the domestic architecture of the space, turning the cabinets into small luminous chambers, as if an aquarium video had been embedded within the room.
Sounds by Jacopo Arrighi.

Made Meaningful at My Bidding
2026
11.4 × 8.3 × 1.2 in
Digitally reworked photograph, cyanotype on linen, gold thread, nails
Gold thread and white nails become a form of writing—slow, tactile, and not entirely legible.
Their making, like embroidery or the act of driving nails by hand, unfolds through time, producing a loss of meaning tied to the relationship between detail and whole, between part and totality—capable of leading elsewhere.
