In our latest training sessions, we and our partners worked with 𝟒𝟒 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬: 18 in Uganda, 12 in Tanzania, 8 in Ghana and 6 in Madagascar. Each of them will stay connected and bring what they’ve learned into the classroom, reaching a total of about 𝟔,𝟔𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 this year alone.

This is the power of our method: a seed planted in the right place grows much further than the eye can see.

For Digital Learning Day, we are sharing a few tools and open initiatives that make science learning more accessible and engaging.

Digital learning can open 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 for students, teachers and anyone curious about science, but access and quality are still uneven around the world. That is why sharing reliable, open resources matters.

At SeedScience, we work with teachers and schools in Africa to experiment with digital approaches to science education, including a project developed together with the International Science Teaching Foundation () to expand access to high-quality digital science learning through the use of the platform.

We hope the resources in this post can 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 curiosity and 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 more people discover how science can be explored, shared and learned 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.

In Uganda and Tanzania, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐧.

Teachers from different schools are coming together to strengthen their scientific knowledge and explore new ways to make science more 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 for their students.

Because real change in education doesn’t happen in a single lesson, it grows over time, through teachers who are 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 to inspire the next generation.

A simple gesture that helps us keep planting the seeds of science education for many more teachers and students.

Mwinyimvua chose to step forward, to speak for forests, species, and places that rarely get a microphone. 🌿

What began as curiosity became 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, what began as learning became 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Seeing a young person claim their role in protecting their community’s natural heritage is 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥. 🐾

It reminds us that leadership isn’t about age, but about taking ownership of the future.

This is what SeedScience is about and what the Nature Ambassadors project achieved: creating spaces where students discover their voice and use it for something bigger than themselves.
