Location: Hrossaborg, Iceland

We have seldom encountered anything as breathtaking as the caldera of the extinct volcano Hrossaborg. There is no doubt this magical space invites visitors to engage in a profound dialogue with nature, inspiring feelings of the divine.

Our goal is to create, “in the solitude of vast wastelands, the archaic experience of traveling on animal backs, culminating at bonfires in the embrace of a silent volcano.”

VJOSA RIVER PARK

The Visitor Center was designed to be a captivating attraction, supported by a strong social media campaign. The Park aims to understand the Vjosa region for effective conservation, using a systematic approach to develop strategies. Mapping revealed areas of interest, and a grid system facilitated organized analysis and management. The circle, a symbol of harmony, unifies the park's architecture, representing its commitment to preservation, safety, and ecosystem protection.

𝗩𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗔 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 Station 2, on the opposite side of the valley, narrates the end of this river by leaning on the banks of its Delta. Unlike station 1 which is rich in matter and descends the weight of its volumes, station 2 re-presents dynamicity. The Vjosa River is the last wild river in Europe and one of its main features is its still free movement with no alteration or obstacles. It transports huge quantities of matter from its source to the Adriatic Sea and modifies its sinuous and undulating forms over time. THE TOWER OF WIND at the UIA23 World Congress | Copenhagen

Anna Maria Indrio_ATENASTUDIO, Henning Frederiksen, Christian Fogh in collaboration with DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute), CLT – Denmark and System Engineering, has won the open call to build a “pavilion for the future”: -

Copenhagen will be the construction site of the visions during the year of architecture 2023.

The architectural idea
The Tower of Wind will have a strong symbolic value in the urban landscape In its sleek, simple and beautiful appearance, the tower will signal attention to our natural
elements: wind, sun and water.
Stepping into the space, one learns about these natural elements and the importance of technology in solving the climate problems of the future.
