Temple University Rome was pleased to host an event with the U.S. Embassy Rome Youth Council.

Our students had the chance to meet young Italians, practice their Italian, and learn more about Italian culture. The Council brings together young people who engage with the Embassy on issues affecting younger generations and help build connections between Italian youth and the United States.

Students in the Fresco-Making course traveled to the Umbrian town of Montebuono to learn more about the town and the history of the surrounding region alongside Montebuono’s mayor.
Students also took the first steps in creating their own frescoes, applying the base arriccio layer and leaving their work to set. In a few weeks, they’ll return to Montebuono to continue the fresco-making process, creating sections inspired by the town’s history and culture.

Temple Rome students joined Professor Krizek for a visit to Campagna Amica Farmers’ Market and a cheese tasting as part of Stay Local Weekend.

As part of Stay Local Weekend, Temple Rome students visited Enosystem (Enosystem Srl ), a shop specializing in equipment for w**emaking.

Damiano, who has run the shop for over 20 years, took students on a journey through the world of w**e production, introducing them to the different tools and equipment used in the w**emaking process and showing how they have evolved over time.

The visit ended with a tasting of two local w**es produced by w**eries that use Enosystem’s equipment.

Our First-Year students kicked off their first event of the year with a little taste of Italy!

Students enjoyed some delicious gelato while designing postcards to send home to friends and family. A fun evening of crafting, chatting, getting to know each other, and enjoying an authentic Italian treat.
