What is OVERSTRIDING?👇
1. OVERSTRIDING is when the foot lands in front of the knee. This acts as a breaking force and will slow you down !
2. The locked knee forces the shock to be absorbed through the skeletal system, ( bones and joints ). I often say this is a knee, hip or lower back operation waiting to happen, due to the shock !
3. Runners usually lands on their heel which is an unstable platform.
3. The body usually leans too far forwards or backwards
EFFICIENT RUNNING FORM
1. The Body should be straight and tall, or with a very slight forwards lean.
2. The foot lands behind the knee
WHY is this good ? Because it allows the shock to be absorbed through the muscules and tendons reducing shock and better employing elastic recoil
3. Foot lands mid foot/ flat foot, which is a stable platform.
4. Relaxed running action
NOTE:
The runner with "poor form" here is actually one of the world’s leading triathletes and is demonstrating great form on the next photo ( swipe to see).

No shame in my walk game! 💪
One thing I love about run walk intervals is how well it’s always helped keep my heart rate low for my recovery/ zone 2 runs. Which running in the summer, it’s hard to run “easy”! I set my watch to beep/vibrate for each portion.
There different ways to set up how long you want to run/walk for! To be honest before I did structured run walk or as people call it the Galloway method, I would just walk when I was tired and sometimes those walk breaks would last for a while. This added in structure. So I would catch my breath but also push when it was time to go!
My marathon in 2019 I did the same method and finished but this method also helped me drop 20 mins off my half marathon time in a few months!
So never be ashamed to walk on a run! Find a run interval that works best for you! Whether you run based on time or run based on distance!

👟How to lace up your running shoes correctly❓
Do you know that uncomfortable, slippery, loose feeling in you running shoes? You have tightened up the laces as much as possible already, but your heel is still wobbling within the shoe? 😬
Well, I’ve got a lacing technique that will LOCK your feet in a secure position, so you’ve got a good grip and don’t have to worry about it 😏💪
I always use this technique, especially in my trail and race shoes. Make sure to tighten up equally on each side - it should be tight but not cutting off the blood flow! 👌

💪Being present and loving every moment
…..they’re only little for so long.
As Moms, we all have our own way of raising and spending time with our little humans. Nonetheless, it’s going on runs for my little family & I; we’ve been doing it for years together. Each summer one of my littles gets an upgrade & it makes me sad to see them grow up but also excited for what’s to come.
No matter what you choose to do with your littles, I hope it makes a significant impact on them. Because at the end of the day, we love them unconditionally & do our very best!
Cherishing this time🤍

Running with a relaxed arm swing improves your balance and rhythm, which allows for a more effective running posture. Here's part about how to work on your arm swing by applying this simple trick: focus on pushing your elbows backwards as if you are punching a person behind you, creating shoulder extension and avoid focusing on driving your hands too far to the front.
