In our latest study in collaboration with the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome, we investigated cognitive processes involved in deepfake detection in a sample of young and older adults.

We found higher detection accuracy and slower response times in older adults alongside a different role of attractiveness ratings associated with detection processes.

Our findings represent a crucial first step for future age-tailored research in this field.
