Noel Gallagher Turned Down Offer to Get Involved in a World Cup Song.

During a new interview on TalkSport, Noel Gallagher was asked if he'd ever been approached to "write a World Cup tune."

While the Oasis star says he's never been asked to write one, he revealed that he was once approached to take part in England's 1998 World Cup song "(How Does It Feel to Be) On Top of the World."

“I got asked to get involved in one, I've never been asked to write one though,” he revealed. “I think it was an England thing, back in the ‘90s. Ocean Colour Scene were involved, and Ian McCulloch, I’m not sure what the tune was, it got swamped by ‘Three Lions’ anyway. It’s not something I would write. No.”
