Hend ben Mansour talks about her PhD project at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, she has been selected as one of the six young fellow of the Migrants Project. She is studying the examination of the contribution of photography to the study of migration both as a site of power articulation and exposition and as a form of narrative that constructs realities and identities.
Shahram Khosravi is professor of anthropology at Stockholm University, his research interests include anthropology of Iran, forced displacement, border studies, and temporality.
One of his book has been translated into italian with the title "I am a border". During his interview, the professor explained why he perceives himself as a border.
During our last Summer School "After the Last Frontiers" we have interviewed Sandro Mezzadra, Professor of Political Philosophy at the Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, who has addressed the relations between globalization, migration and capitalism, as well as to postcolonial criticism.
He talks about the concepts of “Multipolarity” and "Civilization" in relation to Migration Issues.
Amal Hlioui talks about her PhD project at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, she has been selected as one of the six young fellow of the Migrants Project. Thanks to the fellowship that she obtained, she is studying the representations of sub-Saharan (trans)migrants in post-2011 Tunisian media discourse, as well as their self-representations in alternative media outlets as mechanisms of resistance.

Second to last day of job shadowing activities: during the morning session the participants spoke about the social and health services available to the migrants in Palermo, together with the Medici Senza Frontiere - Gruppo di Palermo and Centro Penc associations.
Together they discussed about the delicate issue of mental health, especially of people who have lived traumatic experiences. In the afternoon the participants carried out activities in the offices of the associations CESIE, Arci Porco Rosso, Caritas Diocesana di Palermo, Centro TAU and "S.C.S. Sviluppo Solidale".
During our Summer School "After the Last Frontiers", we have interviewed Dipesh Chakrabarthy, Professor of History at the University of Chicago and he told us his point of view about migrations nowadays.

Second day of the Job Shadowing experience: during the morning session the participant met the associations Centro Astalli Palermo and Cresm - Centro ricerche economiche e sociali per il Meridione, working in the reception sistem of migrants and refugees. They have been guided by the lawyer Laura Bondì from CLEDU and they discussed about the right to access the reception system.
During the afternoon they visited and worked with the associations “ Opera Don Calabria”, “International Rescue Committee”, “Caritas Diocesana di Palermo” and “ARCI Porco Rosso”.

The first day of Job Shadowing activities took place today. The participants were engaged in morning and afternoon sessions together with local associations working with migrants at various levels. In the morning the participants met in plenary Watch The Med - Alarmphone and “Mem.med”, two organizations dealing with rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea.
In the afternoon the participants were divided into groups and met the associations Arci Porco Rosso, International Rescue Committee, Maldusa and "S.C.S. Sviluppo solidale" to take part in the activities and open a discussion with organisations' staff.
The Job Shadowing in Palermo is organized by CLEDU in ccoperation with the Università degli Studi di Palermo and many local and international NGOs.

The Job Shadowing Activity in Palermo is organised by CLEDU, in cooperation with the University of Palermo and Palermo-based organisations that are working on migration issues. The activity will take place from 13 to 19 July and it will be divided in two moments: the plenary session every day at 10.00 at Moltivolti and the afternoon sessions at the CSO’s headquarters.
The Sicilian NGOs involved are: Alarmphone and Mem.Med., CRESM and Centro Astalli, Casa dei Giovani and CGIL, MSF and Centro PENC, Divento and Refugees Welcome, ARCI Porco Rosso, CESIE, Maldusa, International Rescue Committee, Caritas, Don Calabria, Centro TAU.

✨[Closing Ceremony - Summer School]
On Tuesday 11th July we inaugurated the Summer School in Palermo, a very enriching experience for all of the Project Partners and for the international speakers that have contributed to a lively debate about migration studies, each of them with their expertise.
