Is there Cement in your h**pcrete binder?

This is a common question. There are many types of cement, however they fall into two general categories; Natural Cements and Artificial Cements.

Natural cements embrace Roman cement, Pozzolana cement in addition to Medina cement; these happen from natural cement stones. Artificial cements are those produced in a factory, for instance Portland cement and other special cements.

Tradical Hempcrete Australia & NZ range of lime binders and renders are comprised of Natural Cement, not Artificial Portland Cement. The lime is "cooked" at 900 degrees Celsius using grapeseed oil to minimize the .

Portland Cement, added to many h**pcrete binders, is fired at temperatures exceeding 1,300 degrees Celsius.
