A sculpture of Pan, God of the wild, teaching his lover Daphne the lute.
The ancient masonist’s ability to sculpt beings that were pure fiction has always amazed me. 📏✏

The Pantheon - Temple To All The Gods, was originally commissioned by Marcus Agrippa to be his own personal temple of worship in 29 AD.

Emperor Hadrian rebuilt the temple after a terrible fire during his reign.

The building contains an array of precious stones shipped from all over the empire.

Nearly two thousand years later, thanks to Roman ingenuity, it remains one of the best preserved buildings from the ancient times in the world.

🏛 We're excited to present to you our latest design - Iacta Alea Est 🏛

This phrase (meaning The Die Is Cast) is believed to be said by Julius Caesar as he led his army across the Rubicon on January 10, 49 BC.

Since then, the phrase has been widely used to indicate that events have passed a point of no return.

The Farnese Bull is a massive Roman elaborated sculpture copy of a Hellenistic original. It is the largest single sculpture yet recovered from antiquity.

This colossal marble sculptural group represents the myth of Dirce first wife of Lykos, King of Thebes. She was tied to a wild bull by the sons of Antiope, Amphion and Zethus, who wanted to punish her for the ill-treatment inflicted on their mother.

On our last visit to Italy we had an opportunity to see the beautiful statue of the Fawn from the so called House of the Fawn in Pompeii.

It's absolutely exquisite and the impluvium where it once stood matches its elegance especially when wet, bringing the colours of the tiles to life.

The House of the Fawn is the largest and one of the most impressive properties in Pompeii. The house was built in 2nd century BC during the Samnite period and it occupies nearly 3000 square meters. Apart from 2 large peristyle gardens it was also a home to a famous mosaic depicting Alexander the Great.
