Serata inaugurale di "Benny plays Montina" di guidata dalla mia curatela durante la festa dell'Ottobrata.
Grazie al coach della e al play Ivanovic per averci fatto compagnia.
Grazie alla gentilezza squisita di Nelson Dida e all'ospitalità deliziosa (in tutti i sensi) della famiglia Bozza.

La mostra sarà visitabile presso la tenuta Montina in via Baiana 17, Monticelli Brusati (BS) fino alla fine di febbraio 2025.

Mi ha sempre colpito questo titolo de Il Mattino che riportava le parole del presidente Pertini sugli aiuti all'Irpinia e a Napoli a seguito del grande sisma del 1980: un po' per l'immediatezza del messaggio rivolto alle istituzioni che dovevano intervenire repentinamente, un po' perché è diventata un'opera d'arte di Andy Warhol, un po' perché è sempre attuale.. c'è bisogno di agire ora e le istituzioni, i governi guardano, non si muovono di fronte a catastrofi vicine e lontane, temporeggiano. Non sto a dire di chi è la colpa (se di colpa si tratta), perché non lo so e non sta a me determinarlo, ma mi unisco all'appello di Pertini di 44 anni fa perché non si può più aspettare ancora: FATE PRESTO! il nostro governo, l'Europa, l'occidente.. basta! Intervenite dove c'è da intervenire, tutta la società civile vi prega, e fate in modo che si smetta perché i terremoti che ora appaiono lontani, possono scatenarsi anche qui, per cui FATE PRESTO! Per amore della vita di tutti!

Public recognition is very important. Seeing one's work exhibited, discussed and appreciated by other individuals nourishes a sense of personal affirmation and gratifies the need to share. The artist, through his creation, expresses his vision of the world and wants this message to be grasped and understood by the viewer. The public, with its response, thus becomes an integral part of the creative process, confirming the value of the work and its impact on society.
Success with the public can translate into concrete support, opening up new professional and economic opportunities, freeing oneself from material concerns and focusing on research and artistic expression.

However, it is important to emphasise that seeking public approval should never condition the creative freedom of the artist. Art, in its purest form, stems from a deep, intimate need and must free itself from the tastes or fashions of the moment.
The real challenge for an artist is to find a balance between the desire to share and his or her creative independence.
The value of art lies not only in its success with the public, but also in its ability to arouse emotions, stimulate reflection and generate new questions.
