A grand performance of Macbeth lit up the stage of the Sferisterio on August 1st as part of the Macerata Opera Festival. Emma Dante’s bold and expressive direction brought Verdi’s tragedy to life with striking intensity. At the end of the evening, in the presence of Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, the artists raised Palestinian flags — a symbolic gesture inviting reflection through the universal language of art.
