MITOSIS coffee table

There is a moment in which everything begins.
MITOSIS captures that instant: the silent moment in which life takes form.
Its surface, like a cell in mitosis, evokes the miracle of division, generating infinite possibilities
and creating order from chaos.
Its structure belongs to an alien language, suspended between tentacles and roots. It does not
seem to belong to this world, yet it supports it, like a fragment from another universe.
MITOSIS is a silent manifesto of becoming: an ode to life, to its perpetual flow, and to the
movement that continuously shapes us.
It invites us to pause and reflect on what moves within us, on the creative force that makes us
alive.

Technical Description
The MITOSIS coffee table is composed of a cast brass top produced through ground casting.
Each piece is created using an individually prepared mold, ensuring that no two works are ever
identical.
The same casting process is applied to the sculptural legs, whose organic and alien-like
morphology gives the piece its distinctive presence.
The surface is finished with a Hellenic-inspired patina, achieved through a 30-day treatment and
oxidation process. This slow procedure gives depth, irregularity and uniqueness to the brass
surface, enhancing the sculptural identity of the object.
The result is a functional piece conceived as a biological and cosmic fragment, where material
transformation becomes part of the conceptual language of the work.

Technical Description
Sharpened Ancora is a sculptural coffee table made of natural Grade 2 titanium.
Its asymmetric and parametric form creates a sense of structural imbalance, while the
cantilevered composition gives the object a suspended, almost unstable presence.
The table is crafted without coatings, artificial protection, or surface correction. The titanium is
left in its natural state, allowing the material to reveal its authentic character.
Usually associated with aerospace engineering, precision, resistance, and extreme performance,
titanium is here removed from its purely technical identity and brought into an intimate, almost
epidermic dimension.
The surface reveals an unexpected tactility, similar to velvet. Not an added softness, not a
decorative effect, but a latent quality of the material itself. Titanium, often perceived as cold and
inaccessible, suddenly becomes sensitive to touch.
Here lies the paradox of the piece: an extreme material that manifests itself as a caress, an
industrial force that finds its vulnerability through touch, a technical surface that assumes an
almost human presence.
Velvet is not used here as an aesthetic reference, but as a perceptual condition. It is the moment
in which matter changes language: from performance to sensation, from resistance to intimacy,
from technical surface to skin.
Sharpened Ancora explores this tension between instability and function, industrial precision and
emotional perception. The titanium is not softened. It is revealed.
