Il leggendario Hotel Splendor di Via Varese comunemente chiamato l'hotel.
A historical hotel in via Varese. Founded in 1932 by the Countess Romilda de’ Giorgi, wife of a silk manufacturer from Como. It became a flourishing pole of attraction for artists, intellectuals, gallery owners, politicians and businessmen. From Marinetti, Carlo Emilio Gadda, Luchino Visconti, Arturo Toscanini and Piero Fornasettito to mysterious anonymous figures - everybody loved and respected the Hotel. Yet the changing winds have faced the Hotel with multiple difficulties until the lamentable announcement of its closing in December 2013. Sunday, March the 30th, 2014 furniture, objects and memorabilia of the Hotel will be auctioned. The material is showcased during the two preceding days in the hotel.

Uno storico Hotel in via Varese. Fondato nel 1932 dalla Contessa Romilda de' Giorgi, moglie di un facoltoso industriale della seta comasco. Divenne il riferimento di un fiorente cenacolo di artisti, intellettuali, galleristi, politici e industriali. Da Marinetti, Carlo Emilio Gadda, Luchino Visconti, Arturo Toscanini a Piero Fornasetti, fino a misteriose figure anonime. Tutti amavano e rispettavano L'HOTEL. Il vento gira e portando all'hotel un nuovo aspetto, in mezzo a nuove decadenze, annuncia la sua chiusura nel Dicembre 2013. Domenica, 30 marzo 2014, gli arredi e i memorabili cimeli dell'Hotel, verranno battuti all'asta. Il materiale è visionabile durante i due giorni precedenti nell'Hotel Splendor.
