Across Terra Tempo 2, the 808 works from underneath, carrying traditional patterns into a tighter, more grounded form.

Rooted in Ahwach, Ahyad and Issmgan (Gnawa), the traditional rhythms move through repetition, breath and collective timing, shaped by bendir, qraqeb, guembri and nakouss, alongside hands, feet and jefna.

Reworked by Cheb Runner through electronic processing, the original skeletons remain intact, while their scale, weight and function shift, gaining density and physical impact.

Preservation and propulsion: this is where 80K finds its balance.

Built from field recordings, percussive traditions and low-end pressure, Terra Tempo 2 takes shape as a deeply physical release.

Originating from Agadir, Morocco, 80K by Cheb Runner is rooted in the traditional rhythm passed down across the Souss region — Ahwach, Issmgan (Gnawa), Ahyad — carried through communities, collective movement and living transmission.
Field recordings gathered over time are reworked through 808, pushing this ancestral rhythm into a new sonic terrain: raw, tense, and bodily.
