9 meters above one of Milan’s most symbolic squares.
Crane crew, machinists, camera control and video direction worked together to keep movement stable, framing precise and images ready for broadcast throughout the event.
The setup included a Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, Fujinon lens and AVC Products remote head, integrated into the crane workflow for controlled elevated shots.
Live coverage needs more than a good angle. It needs control.

Why does Euphoria feel so dreamy?
The visual style that defined its first seasons wasn’t created through colour grading alone. It began on set, with warm backlight, textured curtains, deep shadows and carefully controlled highlights shaping the image before it ever reached post-production.
To recreate that look, we used just two lights.
The first is placed behind the curtains to create the glowing background and a warm rim around the subject. The second is positioned closer to the talent to shape the face and silhouette, while flags and modifiers control the spill, keeping the frame dark, intimate and cinematic.
A simple setup that shows how much atmosphere can be created before the grade even begins.
Which cinematic look should we recreate next with just two lights?
Pro Tips, episode 27
Same frame. Same exposure. Same camera position.
The only variable is the filter.
CPL, ND and Variable ND each shape the image before it ever hits the sensor, controlling reflections, managing light and influencing how the scene is captured on set. It’s a simple comparison, but a clear reminder: not everything can be fixed in post. Some decisions begin right in front of the lens.

Formati ambiziosi, assurdi, a volte impraticabili. Tutti nati dalla stessa domanda: fin dove possiamo spingerci per rendere un’immagine più immersiva?
L’IMAX è solo un capitolo. Quale di queste rivoluzioni conoscevi già?
___
Everyone is talking about Nolan’s "The Odyssey". But the pursuit of a more immersive cinematic experience began long before IMAX.
Three synchronized cameras, 30-metre-wide curved screens, anamorphic lenses and miniature cameras designed to fit inside a pilot’s goggles. Ambitious, extreme and sometimes impractical formats, all born from the same question: how far can we push the image to make it more immersive?
IMAX is just one chapter. Which of these revolutions did you already know about?

A creative idea should not have to shrink to fit the room.
The Loft works the other way around.

We already had the studios, the cameras, the post team.
The only thing missing was a name.
It's called MARE.

Reliability starts before production begins.
Behind the scenes, our crew check signal flow, cabling, power, backups and technical safety to make sure the setup is ready for the crew.
These details often stay out of frame, but they help keep the day moving smoothly.

A smooth event starts with a well-designed signal chain. Every source, output and backup must work together without friction, so complexity stays invisible and the experience remains clean.
