HAUTLENCE
HAUTLENCE, Atelier d'horlogerie contemporaine www.hautlence.com
Some collaborations are purely transactional. Ours with Agenhor is anything but.
The Geneva-based atelier has worked alongside us across multiple references, each time taking a brief built on creative ambition and translating it into functioning mechanical architecture. They don’t produce off-the-shelf complications. Every module they develop is conceived from scratch, tailored entirely to the brand it serves, from initial technical design through prototyping, quality control, and final assembly.
What makes Agenhor different is the philosophy behind the engineering. They build complications where apparent simplicity conceals absolute mastery, a balance between the beauty of movement and horological logic. That alignment with how we think about watchmaking is why the relationship works.
For the Kubera, that process reached a new level of complexity. The result is a movement that reflects both what Hautlence demands aesthetically and what Agenhor is capable of mechanically. Neither half of that equation compromises the other.
This is what genuine creative partnership in haute horlogerie looks like.
Speed has a shape. You see it in a racing line, in the tension of a bodywork curve, in a case that refuses convention.
At Speedlab Scaldasole with Motoring Attitude during the Milano Design Week, Hautlence placed the Kubera in the company it belongs to, surrounded by historic racing cars and motorcycles that redefined motion. At the centre, a handmade glass sculpture by designer Astrid Luglio suspends the watch mid-air, as if time itself were in flight.
Launched at Watches and Wonders 2026, the Kubera Series 1 marks a new chapter for the brand. Its eight-sided, pyramid-tiered case houses a 244-component movement based on the self-winding La Joux-Perret B60 calibre, upgraded with an anti-magnetic escapement making its Hautlence debut. The jumping hours and peripheral minutes module, co-developed with Agenhor, eliminate traditional hands: the hour jumps instantaneously through an octagonal aperture, while a turquoise cursor traces the dial along a hidden peripheral track. Beneath it all, a 70-hour power reserve runs in near silence.

We sat down with watch designer Marcus Eilinger, the designer of our new Kubera collection, to discuss key principles of design, but also to explain the inspiration points behind this new era of design for Hautlence.
Marcus is a veteran of the watch design world, with many iconic designs to his name, spanning many, many brands. Including our near and dear H. Moser & Cie.
There are very few people that achieve the heights Gaggan Anand has reached, breaking every rule possible, every convention put before him to impact a genuine shift in the culinary world. From humble beginnings in Kolkata, India; his journey took him to Bangkok and beyond, where he opened his now world famous, eponymous restaurant Gaggan. After taking the number one spot on the Sanpellegrino Asia 50 Best restaurants for the first time in 2015, a spot he maintained consecutively for four years, he shot to further levels of fame after featuring in the Netflix Series Chef’s Table.
Gaggan’s passion for watches, particularly those of unusual complication or design has been brewing for some years now, and we are extremely happy to welcome him to the Hautlence family.
We couldn’t be more proud to present our latest Hautlence Sphere Series 4 with our latest protagonist Gaggan Anand in this film about his life and achievements in Bangkok, Thailand. We believe strongly in challenging norms, conventions and possibilities and can think of no-one better than Gaggan to celebrate this.

Where do we go from here: in the words of our Brand Director Cedric Joos, from our new home in Schaffhausen, we describe the vision for the future, what to expect this year and beyond.
How did we arrive in Schaffhausen: Directly in the words of our chairman, Georges-Henri Meylan, who acquired the brand back in 2012, after which making its move from Nechatel to our current home. Having served at the helm of Audemars Piguet from 1997 to 2009, his expertise in bringing this special brand to new chapters cannot be underestimated.
We speak with Georges-Henri about Hautlence, its origins and what speaks most to collectors in terms of product and brand; in accordance with his many years of knowledge.
Where do we come from: In the words of our founder Guillaume Tetu, now having returned as chairman of Hautlence after a hietus, we explore the origin of this small independent manufacturer.
During an era of independent watchmakers carving out new paths and approaches, boldly exploring alternative ways of telling the time, Hautlence established itself with a DNA that is quite unlike any other.
Born out of the spirit of challenge, being told repeatedly by suppliers and watchmakers that their daring approaches ‘wouldn’t work’ – fortunately for Hautlence, the rest is history.
We believe in new approaches — in going deeper down the rabbit hole.
In questioning established codes, exploring alternative paths, and embracing artistic thinking as a true driver of creation.
For Hautlence, progress comes from curiosity: from looking closer, pushing further, and allowing unconventional ideas to shape what a watch can become.
