Forse perché il prog ha sempre avuto un rapporto particolare con il tempo.

Con il tempo dell’ascolto, che richiede attenzione, immaginazione, presenza.
E anche con quel tempo interiore che oggi sembra avere sempre meno spazio.
Viviamo in un presente velocissimo, dove tutto viene consumato nel giro di pochi secondi.

Eppure continua a esistere una musica che sceglie atmosfere invece di scorciatoie, che non nasce per riempire il silenzio ma per aprire spazi interiori, immagini, visioni.

Le composizioni si sviluppano come vere e proprie sequenze cinematografiche: i cambi di dinamica ricordano movimenti di macchina, mentre le melodie agiscono come fili narrativi che accompagnano l’ascoltatore lungo il viaggio. L’introduzione evocativa di Voices From The Past funziona come una scena d’apertura, un richiamo che emerge dalla memoria, mentre la suite finale Vertigo rappresenta l’epilogo, un’ultima inquadratura che continua a risuonare anche dopo il silenzio.

The evocative introduction of Voices From The Past works as an opening scene, a call emerging from memory, while the closing suite Vertigo serves as the epilogue, a final frame that continues to resonate even after the music fades.

Un gesto sospeso, catturato nell’attimo che precede l’ingresso in scena.

Durante i preparativi di un concerto, Laura, voce dei Tale Cue, si raccoglie in un momento intimo mentre si trucca. Solo in seguito ci siamo accorti che quella stessa postura, carica di concentrazione e attesa, richiama sorprendentemente una celebre fotografia di Elsie Mackay, pioniera dell’aviazione degli anni Venti.

Laura non aveva mai visto quell’immagine. Eppure, le due fotografie sembrano rispecchiarsi, come se condividessero la stessa energia e lo stesso slancio verso ciò che sta per accadere. Due donne, due epoche diverse, unite da un momento di raccoglimento prima di affrontare il proprio volo, il palcoscenico e il cielo.

Il brano Gordon Sinclair si conclude con una frase che risuona come un’eco nel tempo, “Io non sarò morta finché qualcuno pronuncerà il mio nome”.
È particolarmente suggestivo pensare che, trent’anni prima, Laura non potesse immaginare che un giorno avrebbe dato voce a Elsie Mackay proprio attraverso questa canzone, assumendo inconsapevolmente una postura sorprendentemente simile a quella dell’aviatrice.

While preparing for a concert, Laura, the voice of Tale Cue, is seen in an intimate moment as she applying her makeup. Only later did we realize that her posture strikingly echoes a well-known photograph of Elsie Mackay, the pioneering aviator of the 1920s.

Laura had never seen that image. Yet the two photographs seem to mirror one another, as if sharing the same energy and anticipation of what is about to unfold. Two women from different eras, united by a moment of quiet concentration before taking flight, one toward the stage and the other toward the sky.
