“Hokusai. L’acqua e il segreto della grande onda”, beautiful exhibition at the Museo Bailo, Treviso
Here are the details of some of his works and of works by contemporary artists.
Hokusai deep humility and his belief that art is a lifelong journey of continuous improvement:

“Since the age of six, I have had the habit of drawing the shape of things. At fifty I had published many drawings, but none of my works before the age of seventy had real merit. At seventy-three, I began to understand the true forms of animals, insects, and fish, and the nature of plants and trees. At ninety I shall have penetrated the mystery of things; at one hundred I shall certainly have reached a marvelous level, and at one hundred and ten, every dot, every stroke will be alive.”

Gracias a esta exposición descubrí que gran parte del trabajo del artista fue estampando después de su muerte gracias a su amigo Maurice Joyant. En esta exposición destaca la serie de litografías póstumas, de obras de tema circense, que fueron realizadas durante una internación al final de la vida del artista.
De Toulouse Lautrec siempre me han fascinado los colores, los movimientos de las siluetas, los rostros anónimos, los rostros caricaturescos, el movimiento, los vacíos, la intimidad, las representaciones de las mujeres, y la naturalidad otorgada a la extravagancia.
