🇪🇺 In April, the study visits began for the EU-funded project "Institutional Support to the State Service for Maritime, Inland Waterway Transport and Shipping of Ukraine in the Implementation of the EU Acquis, Norms and Standards on Maritime Safety", an initiative aimed at supporting Ukraine in aligning its national regulations with European and international standards on maritime safety, inland waterway transport and commercial shipping ⚓️

🇮🇹🇺🇦 hashtag serves as lead partner, with the project promoted by the Corpo delle Capitanerie di porto - Guardia Costiera. Following the first study visit in Genoa, the Ukrainian delegation, accompanied by institutional and operational representatives, travelled to Rome and Salerno, before arriving in Messina, where it was received by Mayor Federico Basile, alongside C.F. Daniele Esibini of the Coast Guard's Specialised Training Centre (VTMIS Messina) and C.V. Massimo Mosconi, Project Leader of the European initiative.

🤝🏼 Training activities have engaged the Genoa and Messina training centres through specialist online courses, seminars and study visits, with the goal of transferring expertise, operational procedures and best practices in line with EU legislation. The programme will conclude in July in Genoa, where the project's closing event will bring this intensive knowledge-sharing journey to a close.

The third stop of the travelling event "Il Leudo racconta" has come to a close in Genoa. Promoted as part of the NEPTUNE EVOLUTION project and co-funded by the Interreg Italia-Francia Marittimo Programme 2021–2027, the event brought the Genova Blue District and the Porto Antico area to life from 3 to 5 June with meetings, workshops, outreach activities and sessions dedicated to European projects focused on the sea, innovation and sustainability 🌀

On , Friday 5 June opened at the Genova Blue District with a series of sessions showcasing projects from the Interreg Italy–France Maritime Programme, covering environmental sustainability, circular economy, air quality, port noise and marine protection.

Among them, took centre stage. The project's lead partner presented the work carried out to build a shared strategy among scientific institutions, port infrastructure managers, maritime businesses and local communities 🤝🏼

We extend our thanks to the organizers, to Regione Liguria and to the Neptune Evolution project team, whose Leudo vessel continues its journey until 15 June, sailing through Liguria, Tuscany and Corsica to tell the story of the Mediterranean through the lens of environment, maritime culture, innovation and European cooperation.

On May 27 and 28, the AirLabò Project Committee met in at the headquarters of Confindustria Centro Nord Sardegna 🤝🏼

This cross-border initiative is dedicated to improving air quality in port cities through advanced scientific tools, widespread monitoring networks, and participatory processes with local stakeholders.

All the project's operational partners attended the meeting: the Fondazione Accademia Italiana della Marina Mercantile, Confindustria Centro-Nord Sardegna, AtmoSud, Qualitair Corse, Techne Consulting, Arpal and Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale 🌀

The joint presence of the partners allowed for a broad and concrete discussion on the progress of the activities and to jointly plan the next steps, with a specific focus on strengthening Living Labs, spaces for dialogue between ports, businesses, scientific institutions, and citizens.

🇮🇹🇫🇷 The collaboration between the Italian and French partners confirms the shared desire to build a shared approach to air quality management, capable of combining technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and economic development.

This three-day course provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), known as the “seafarers’ bill of rights.” The course explains the Convention’s purpose, structure, and fundamental principles, focusing on the rights and welfare of seafarers and the corresponding obligations of shipowners and flag States.

🇮🇹🇺🇦 The Twinning Project “Institutional Support to the State Service for Maritime, Inland Waterway transport and Shipping of Ukraine in the implementation of the EU Acquis, Norms and Standards on Maritime Safety” is an EU funded project that will be jointly implemented by a Consortium of Italian institutions and the Ukrainian Shipping Administration.

The overall objective of this Twinning project is to improve the safety and security of maritime transport in Ukraine in line with EU acquis and international conventions. After 2 years of joint working, the Twinning is moving to its end, with reciprocal satisfaction and a very deep job to help the Ukrainian counterpart to establish a new EU standard for the maritime industry! ⚓️
