Florence in summer.

A city of light, stone and silence: where history and creativity continue to meet in the present.
It is here that the New Generation Foundation and Mascarade Opera were born, and where their programmes still grow today: shaped by the city, its heritage, and its living artistic energy.

Florence is not just a backdrop.
It is part of the work.

A sneak peek of … and a few high Cs.💫

Yesterday, we hosted the Amiata Festival press conference at our home in Florence, Palazzo Corsini al Prato, celebrating the launch of its inaugural season.

We’re especially proud to see Mascarade alumni Floriana Cicio, Lauren Young, Garrett Evers, and Charles Buttigieg take centre stage in the festival’s opening events: tonight in Anghiari and tomorrow at the Festival Gala at Forum Bertinelli in Grosseto, performing a programme of Italian favourites with Sinfonia Smith Square under the baton of Nicholas Chalmers.

The inaugural Amiata Festival also features performances from Grammy Award winner mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, rising British tenor Laurence Kilsby, and Italian baritone Luca Micheletti, promising a wonderful summer of music in the Tuscan hills. A number of Mascarade artists will join Joyce DiDonato for a special masterclass as part of the festival programme.

For tickets and more information, visit amiata.music.

Floriana Cicio and Garrett Evers sing the end of “O soave fanciulla” from Puccini’s La bohème.

Palazzo Corsini al Prato, Florence ✨

The home of Mascarade Opera: where daily artistic work continues, even in the lightness of summer.
A place of focus, exchange, and creation… with just a hint of holiday in the air.

What you didn’t see ✨

These images are from the Generale of Showcase 2026 at Teatro Regio di Parma, where everything quietly fell into place before meeting the audience.

Behind Villa Belcanto, another story unfolded: more intimate, made of details the audience never sees but always feels. Small gestures, shared focus, last-second breaths before stepping into the light.

The most important learning often happens on stage 💡

At Mascarade Opera, emerging singers and répétiteurs spend a year combining intensive training with real performance experience, working alongside our partner houses and partner orchestras.

Artistic growth is shaped not only in the studio, but on stage.
