Mariam Suleiman makes her house debut at the Opernhaus Zürich as Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte on 20 September, marking her first premiere in Zürich as a member of the Operastudio ✨🦜🪈

Tarmo Peltokoski conducts this new production by Daniele Finzi Pasca.

The cast features Magnus Dietrich as Tamino, Regula Mühlemann as Pamina, Jasmin Delfs as the Queen of the Night, Yannick Debus as Papageno and Tobias Kehrer as Sarastro.

✨ Toi toi toi to Talent Pathway Artist Cláudia Pereira as she takes the stage in the world premiere of Verwandlung at Theater Winterthur!

Based on Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, Verwandlung is a new opera by composer Gordon Kampe and librettist Philipp Löhle, receiving its world premiere on September 18 in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Claudia performs as part of the Käfer-Quartett with performances this season at Theater Winterthur and Staatstheater Augsburg, where the German premiere follows on October 10.

The work behind the stage ✨

Performance is at the centre of our Emerging Artists Programme, and so is the artistic work that makes it possible.

Throughout the programme, our artists work with guest faculty and coaches from around the world, bringing new voices and fresh perspectives into the studio. These coaching sessions give each artist the space to develop their craft and deepen their artistic work, always with the stage and a professional career in mind.

The work in the studio becomes the work on stage.

Applications are open for Mascarade Opera (The New Generation Foundation) , a performance-based Emerging Artists programme in Florence, Italy, for exceptional young opera singers and répétiteurs.

Rather than following a fixed training curriculum, the programme builds an individual pathway around each artist, combining professional stage opportunities with focused artistic development, coaching, role preparation and career guidance.

Artists have opportunities to take on engagements with partner institutions including Nationaltheater Mannheim, Staatstheater Augsburg and Staatstheater Wiesbaden.

Mascarade Opera offers a flexible one-to-two-year pathway shaped around each artist’s individual goals. Places are fully funded, with artists receiving tuition and accommodation support.
