Long before it became Rivoli Boutique Hotel, this was home to a Renaissance master.

Historical records suggest that Benvenuto Cellini lived here between 1540 and 1571. Today, the original entrance to his residence can still be seen in our cloister, beside the pool, leading to what is now Room 406.

Some stays come with a little more history than others.

Our courtesy line is by Farmacia SS. Annunziata 1561, one of Florence’s oldest artisanal pharmacies. Founded in 156 it has preserved the city’s tradition of botanical craftsmanship for more than four centuries.
Today, its historic pharmacy still welcomes visitors among magnificent 17th-century wooden furnishings, where history, fragrance, and Florentine elegance come together.

This September, the streets of San Paolino become an open-air gallery with the fourth edition of Palazzuolo Strada Aperta, a public art and urban regeneration project bringing contemporary street art into the heart of Florence.

Nine Italian artists will transform nine new shop shutters, joining the 44 created during previous editions: 53 works of art forming a unique open-air museum that reveals itself when the shops close.

Throughout the month, the festival will also feature guided street-art tours around the neighbourhood and Prossemica Vol. IV, a collective exhibition at Street Levels Gallery featuring works by the artists taking part in the festival.

Just a short walk from Rivoli, it's a wonderful opportunity to discover another side of Florence—creative, contemporary and deeply connected to its neighbourhoods.
