🎸 𝟖𝟏𝐝𝐛 – 𝟐𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬
🎬 2007 – The first video
After five more gigs following our first official concert at SIntetiKa— things started to move faster.
Around that time, we worked on our first video clip for the song “Voices”.
It was our first real attempt to translate our music into images, and we had the chance to collaborate with the awesome mind of Fabio Bianchini and an incredible team that brought passion, creativity, and serious dedication and professionalism to the project.
Looking back today, what stands out is not only the quality of the work, but also how that video felt, in some ways, ahead of its time.
For us, it was a new and intense experience — seeing our sound take shape beyond the rehearsal room and the stage.
“Voices” would later become the first single from our debut album.
A defining moment in those early days.

🎸 2007 – First Headline Show

On March 28th, 2007, we played our first headline concert at SintetiKa in Florence.

We didn’t really know what to expect that night.
But when we walked on stage and saw the place packed with people, we realized something was starting to happen.

It was loud, intense, and probably a bit chaotic — but for us it was unforgettable.

That night was the first time we felt that 81db was not just a band rehearsing in a room anymore.
It had become something real.

We still remember that feeling.

🎙 2006 – The first demo

Shortly after the band was formed, we decided to record our first demo.

There was no proper studio involved — just a borrowed Digi 002 sound card, a laptop, and a lot of curiosity about what this new band could become.

We recorded three tracks, capturing the very early stage of the 81db sound: heavy riffs, progressive ideas, and plenty of experimentation.

Those recordings were never officially released and were only passed around by hand.

Every now and then we ask ourselves…

Every story has a beginning.

In 2006, in Florence, the first ideas that would eventually become 81db started to take shape.
From the start, the vision was clear: create music without strict boundaries. Heavy riffs, progressive structures, atmospheric passages, and unexpected influences were all part of the same language.

Two decades later, the journey continues.

Throughout this year we will share moments, memories and milestones from the history of the band.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this path.
